Fansly Chargeback Protection: What It Covers and What It Doesn't
Fansly protects creators from most chargebacks, with exceptions. Learn how refunds, disputes, pending earnings, and support reviews differ.

Fansly describes chargeback protection in most cases, with exceptions. Its terms also reserve deduction rights, so protection does not guarantee you will retain every payment.
Creators raised the question in separate October 14 and October 15 discussions about disputed payments on OnlyFans. Replies asked whether Fansly prevents the same problem. Other creators reported different experiences. Those accounts explain the concern, but they do not establish a platform-wide chargeback rate or prove that switching will improve your results.
Read the help promise alongside the terms
The Creator Security FAQ identifies unusually high chargebacks compared with other creators and exceptional cases involving creator fault as reasons Fansly may deduct earnings.
Section 3.14 of the Terms of Service, last updated July 21, 2026, reserves the right to deduct revenue from subscriptions, sales, or tips that result in a chargeback. It also permits deductions connected to content that violates the terms.
The FAQ describes how Fansly says it handles most cases. The terms preserve broader discretion. Neither predicts the decision on your particular transaction.
The cited FAQ gives no fixed protected amount or percentage threshold. Ask support instead of adopting a limit from a forum.
Separate refunds from payment disputes
For your own records, distinguish a refund processed through the platform from a chargeback initiated through a buyer's card issuer. The route matters when you ask who made a decision, which transaction changed, and what evidence support needs.
Fansly's refund guidance, dated July 8, 2026, describes most purchases as final. It also allows case-by-case review. For example, Fansly may consider a refund when a creator fails to deliver promised content and blocks the buyer. The guidance also lets creators ask support to refund a tip.
A “non-refundable” description therefore does not answer every possible payment complaint. Avoid promising customers that nobody can reverse a payment, and do not interpret a refund-policy page as proof that a cardholder cannot approach their bank.
Use precise language in your support request. “My balance changed” leaves the cause open. “This order shows a refund” or “support described this order as a chargeback” gives the reviewer a starting point without guessing.
A pending balance is not proof of a chargeback
Fansly's payout processing guide, dated July 9, 2026, separates the stages. Funds from a sale remain pending for seven days before becoming available for payout. Most withdrawal requests receive review within 48 hours, and delivery after processing takes one to three business days in typical cases. Some methods have batching or minimum-amount conditions.
Treat those as different questions:
- Is the original transaction still in its standard pending period?
- Did Fansly change the transaction or deduct an amount?
- Have you requested a withdrawal, and what status does it show?
- Has the provider or bank received the transfer?
You cannot diagnose a dispute from a pending balance alone. Match the sale and any later adjustment before deciding what happened. Keep the withdrawal record separate from the original customer payment in your notes.
Blocking a buyer does not settle the payment question
The security FAQ says blocking does not trigger an automatic subscription refund. Fansly can deduct approved refunds, and purchased media remains accessible, subject to exceptional support review.
Use the block function to address unwanted contact, not as a payment-resolution method. Preserve the relevant conversation before reporting a problem. Do not agree to provide something you cannot deliver because a buyer threatens a dispute.
If the buyer's complaint concerns a missed delivery or unclear description, document what you offered and what you supplied. If it concerns harassment, report that behavior as well. Give support enough detail to assess both without suggesting that paying removes your right to set boundaries.
Send support a transaction-level account
Fansly's refund guidance asks for transaction details and supporting records. Prepare a short account before contacting the official support channel:
- Identify the order, its date, and the amount. Include the order number from your transaction history.
- Save a screenshot showing the transaction and the wording of any adjustment. Redact unrelated customer information.
- Describe the original purchase and attach the relevant agreement or message exchange.
- Explain what you delivered and when. Separate facts you can document from what you suspect.
- Ask whether Fansly classified the change as a refund, chargeback, or another adjustment, and what further evidence it needs.
For example: “Order [number] on [date] shows an adjustment of [amount]. I delivered [description] on [date]. The attached records show the agreement and delivery. Please confirm the adjustment type and whether you need further information.”
Do not send full card details, ask followers to confront the buyer, or share their personal information in public. Record the support reference and response so you can follow up on the same case. A clear request helps identify the issue; it does not guarantee reimbursement.
Make platform decisions from your own records
Before changing where you sell, review your disputed transactions over a defined period. Note the amount, purchase type, decision, and time you spent resolving each case. Keep completed support outcomes separate from open complaints.
Read our Fansly versus OnlyFans guide for the broader product comparison. The creator-platform guide covers other selection criteria. Chargeback handling deserves attention, but it cannot tell you where your existing customers will follow or how much work a second account will require.
Frequently asked questions
Can someone initiate a chargeback on Fansly?
Yes. Fansly's terms address purchases that result in chargebacks. Creator protection concerns how Fansly handles the resulting loss, not a promise that buyers cannot dispute payments.
Does Fansly guarantee protection for every creator?
No. The help center lists exceptions. Ask support to explain any disputed-revenue deduction on your account.
Are refunds and chargebacks the same thing?
Keep them separate in your records. A platform refund and a card-issuer dispute follow different routes. Ask support which occurred instead of assuming that any reduction came from a bank dispute.
Does a seven-day hold mean Fansly suspects fraud?
The payout guide describes seven days as the standard pending period after a sale. That timing alone does not establish a fraud finding or a chargeback. Check the transaction and payout status.
Will blocking a subscriber protect the payment?
No. Ask support about the specific transaction and any purchased-media access issue. This guide describes platform guidance checked October 16, 2026, not legal rights or a promised outcome.
